How to use Tags with Expiration Dates

Modified on Fri, 20 Oct 2023 at 11:21 AM

Expiring tags, as their name suggests, are tags that can be set to expire after a certain date. These were designed to help coordinators track certifications and stay up to date on time sensitive details. Read this article for more information about tags.

Considerations

The expiration date of each tag will be specific to the worker who has been qualified.

If a tag's expiration date has passed, then the worker will not appear in the list as eligible for a shift when filtering by that tag.

How to Create Expiring Tags from the Tags Page

  1. Choose a tag from the Tags Page

  2. Select Enable expiration dates for this tag

  3. Input expiration dates for individual workers

  4. Select Save

If you add an expiration date before the worker is qualified for the tag, the worker will automatically be qualified to save you an extra step.

How to Receive Notifications for Upcoming Expiring Tags

If you'd like to receive a monthly notification email with information about all upcoming tag expirations, navigate to Subscription Settings within Nowsta Account Settings.

This setting is regulated by the coordinator logged in to platform at the time the selection is made, so everyone on the team has individual control over whether they receive this email.

If you opt in, you will receive monthly summary emails like the one show below:

The email will arrive as soon as you subscribe, and then each month following on the 1st. Any expired or soon to expire tags will contain links that connect you to the worker profile so that you can remove or update tags as needed.

How to Import Expiring Tags

Coordinators can upload tags at the same time that they upload a worker list using our customized template. Check out this article for a step by step guide.
